We are all addicts of Fossil Fuels.

I don't think I ever posted the final series of this project before, these were the three prints I chose to represent the quote by Kurt Vonnegut - "Here's what I think the truth is: We are all addicts of fossil fuels in a state of denial, about to face cold turkey.

Done in one of my favourite 'monoprint on newsprint' techniques which I seem to use a lot, I actually felt the technique really suited the quote. I feel the roughness compliments it well, and each print has been chosen to represent one of three different factors which I felt were important - the age and time it takes to produce fossil fuels, how important they are to us, and our 'addiction' to them.

Doe's Heart

Heres a two colour monoprint done last year that I just found out, it was for the 'One Eyed Doe' project based on the Aesop's Fable. Although it didn't make it into the final book I still really liked it.

The print is done onto newsprint, which I prefer to work on as you can get super fine detail and line work but also gives the print a nice off-white background colour :)
